Saving & Sharing
How Feelpath Handles Transcripts
Before a Feelpath session, you may be asked whether to save the transcript and whether to share it. This page explains why they are there, what each choice changes, and what stays in your control.

The choices you see before joining a session
This page at a glance
Why is Feelpath asking me to check boxes?
Feelpath is designed to support your therapy sessions, and the learning that happens between sessions, by surfacing patterns, pre-drafting notes, and providing personalized observations. This helps create more continuous care from one session to the next.
To do that, Feelpath relies on the session transcript. Before joining a Feelpath session, you may see one or two transcript choices, depending on how the session is set up. Clients may see both saving and sharing, while therapists may see only the saving option. These choices apply only to the conversation from that session and do not affect past or future sessions.
If the transcript is saved, Feelpath can create Insights.
If the transcript is shared, the therapist can view the participant's transcript in Feelpath.
Saving & Sharing
What does saving mean?
If you choose to save the transcript, Feelpath can create Insights from it. Insights are simple reflection tools created from the transcript. They can help with recall, review, and follow-up after session.
Choosing to save means the transcript stays in Feelpath unless it is later deleted, and it is protected with encryption in transit and at rest. If you do not save it, Feelpath does not store it as transcript text for Insights, no Insights are generated for that session, and a participant's lines appear as [redacted] in stored transcripts.
What does sharing mean?
Sharing changes whether your therapist can view the transcript in Feelpath. If you choose to share it, your therapist can view the transcript for that session in Feelpath. If you do not share it, your therapist cannot view it there. This choice does not control whether Insights are generated; that is controlled by saving. Therapists share transcripts with clients by default.
You can still view your own transcript and use transcript tools to review, edit, redact, download, or delete your own words. Sharing applies inside Feelpath. It does not by itself share the transcript outside the platform or give wider access by default.
Can I change this later?
Yes, sharing and saving can be reviewed later for that session. If it is not clear what is currently shared, check the transcript sharing controls for that session. These choices are meant to stay in your hands and be revisitable.
Redaction
Replaces selected text with [redacted] for you and anyone you have shared with.
Deletion
Removes your stored transcript text for that session and clears session Insights tied to your transcript. After deletion, your lines appear as [redacted] in the transcript view for that session.
Transcript tools
Permanently remove selected text; shows "[redacted]" everywhere.
Change wording; exports and analysis use edited text.
Download a .txt copy to view offline.
Review who can see your words for this session.
Permanently remove your lines; insights are deleted.
Common questions
More about saving and sharing
Can I view my own transcript?
Yes. You can review, edit, redact, download, or delete your own transcript using the transcript tools.
Do these choices affect only Feelpath?
Yes. These choices onlyaffect how the transcript is used and shared inside Feelpath. They do not change the therapy relationship or the therapist's standard documentation practices outside the platform.
Who else can access it?
Only the people you choose inside Feelpath. You can view your own transcript. If you choose to share it, your therapist can view it in Feelpath. If you do not share it, your therapist cannot view it there.
How long is a saved transcript kept?
Saved transcripts stay in Feelpath unless they are deleted. For more detail about storage, retention, and encryption, see our privacy overview.
What does disclosure mean?
In some care settings, these choices may be part of a Release of Information (ROI) process. Disclosures refers to situations where information may need to be disclosed outside the normal therapy workflow because the law requires it, for example a legally valid court order or other legally required request.
- Feelpath is designed to limit access to the people the participant authorizes.
- If Feelpath is legally required to disclose something, it will disclose only what is required by law, and notify the relevant account owner when permitted.
